Join Us in Making Shelby’s 2026 Events a Success

We’re gearing up for an exciting summer, and we need your help making these events happen! We have a strong team already, but we’re still looking for volunteers—both lead organizers and general helpers—for several upcoming activities and projects:

🎬 Summer Movie Nights (June–September)
Five movie nights planned
June will feature a summer kick‑off meal
One night will be a Date Night theme
One will feature a Spanish‑language film

🪵 CarvePrize (mid‑May to mid‑July)
We need volunteers to staff an information table on select Saturdays and Sundays when visitors are in town.

🪓 Shelby Chainsaw Carving Festival (July 10–11)
Volunteers needed for hospitality and the information table.

🎉 Hispanic Heritage Festival (New!)
We’re hoping to launch a festival celebrating the rich Hispanic heritage of our community. This one needs a lead champion/organizer to bring it to life!

🌼 Beautification Crew
Help us keep downtown Shelby and Getty Park looking great by weeding and maintaining flower beds, islands, and the bike trail pavilion area.

📦 Blessing Box Project
The box is already built—now we just need someone to adopt and lead this great community service initiative. (Original organizer moved out of state.) https://thewoodenify.com/how-to-build-a-blessing-box/

All of these are amazing opportunities to get involved and help make Shelby roar. 🌟
