Have you heard about the Blessing Box in Shelby?

May 8th, 2026
We’d love to introduce you!
📍 You’ll find it in Pocket Park in downtown Shelby.
The Blessing Box is a free, community-supported resource built on a simple idea: neighbors helping neighbors. It’s available 24/7 and stocked with non-perishable food and essential items.
👉 Take what you need
👉 Leave what you can
This meaningful project began with a small group of dedicated community members, including Kim Merten and Cheri Brandt as a part of the Southern Oceana Area Chamber, who wanted to make a positive impact right here in Shelby.
It grew into a community collaboration:
• Students from the Shelby High School – TigerPride woodshop class built the box
• Brooke Sylvester has taken on a leadership role and created a Facebook page to support and spread awareness
This is what community spirit looks like! 💙
