Boil Water Advisory Remains For Affected Areas

February 6th, 2026

Hey Shelby — we want to keep everyone informed. The second water sample did not pass the test required to lift the boil water advisory for the affected areas:

Cherry • Lesada • Runner • Hillcrest • North & South Sunset Terrace • Orchard View Dr • 6th St (east of State St/Oceana Dr)

Please be assured: a failed sample does not mean the water is unsafe. These tests are extremely sensitive, and even very small, non‑harmful variations can cause a sample to fail.

However, per EGLE requirements, we must have two passing samples in a row before the advisory can be lifted. Because each test takes 24 hours, the earliest the advisory could be lifted is Sunday — and that is only if both upcoming samples pass.

✅ Please continue to boil water or use bottled water for drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth.

If you’d like guidance on what to do in your home during a boil water advisory, here is a helpful resource:

We will let everyone know as soon as we have results.

We know this is inconvenient, and we are truly sorry. Our team is working diligently to resolve this as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. 💙
