🚰 Water Safety Cross Connection Control Update 🚰
September 19th, 2025The Village of Shelby is committed to providing safe, clean drinking water to our community. To protect our public water system from potential contamination, we are implementing a Cross-Connection Control Program in accordance with the Michigan Plumbing Code (Sections 608.6 & 608.13).
🔒 What’s Changing? To comply with state regulations and enhance water safety, the program includes:
• 📬 Postal notifications with instructions for water customers
• 📝 Annual Test Reports for existing Backflow Preventers
• 🏠 Potential on-site surveys to detect cross-connections
• ⚠️ Corrective actions for non-compliant service connections
💧 To ensure expert service and cost-effective compliance, we’ve partnered with HydroCorp, a trusted provider with over 39 years of experience in water safety programs.
📅 Inspection Schedule:
• Every home: once every 5 years
• Every business: once every 2 years
