🎉 What a Giant Success! 🎉

July 14th, 2025

Our very first Shelby Chainsaw Carving Festival was an incredible hit! With auction sales totaling $19,500, we heard a resounding YES from the community—this event is here to stay and will no doubt become an annual tradition in Shelby! 🪓🐻

In previous posts, we’ve highlighted our amazing financial sponsors (thank you again!). Today, we want to shine a spotlight on the volunteers—the heart and soul of this festival—who gave their time, energy, and talents without earning a single penny. 💛

🙏 Thank You To These Incredible Individuals & Groups:

  • Dillon Sibley (Dr. Geers Chiropractor Office) – our jack-of-all-trades!
  • Bob Mayo (Jarvis Sawmill) – for providing logs and supporting our carvers
  • Sarah Lopez – our craft vendor coordinator extraordinaire
  • Damian Omness (Limited DJ Services) – for running the sound booth and donating equipment
  • Clarence Chase – our lively and talented auctioneer
  • Shelby State Bank Staff – for clerking the auction with precision
  • New Beginnings Church – Josh Hill & Jennifer VanDyn for leading fun kids’ activities
  • Steve Crothers, Curt Trott, Tiffany & Rusty Haight, Beth & Victor Ross, John Sutton, Jim Wyns – for keeping the info table running smoothly
  • Jan Sexson – our official photographer capturing all the magic 📸
  • Oceana County Sheriff Reserves – for providing overnight security
  • Andy Carter (Brown Bear) and his sons Titan, Ivan, and Atlas – for their help and energy
  • Todd Willick (Outback Forestry) – for using his equipment to keep our crowd safe

🛍️ A Huge Thank You to everyone who participated in the auction and made purchases! Your support not only helped raise an amazing $19,500, but also showed just how much this community values creativity and connection. You made a real difference!

✨ It’s possible we may have missed someone in this list—please forgive us if that’s the case. Your contribution is deeply appreciated, and we are so grateful for everyone who helped make this event a success.

Here’s to many more years of chainsaws, creativity, and community! 🪓❤️
