The Planning Commission plays an important role in shaping Shelby’s future by reviewing development proposals, guiding land use decisions, and maintaining the Village’s Master Plan. The Commission works to ensure that Shelby grows in a thoughtful, sustainable way that reflects the values of the community.
The Planning Commission consists of appointed members who serve staggered terms and includes the Village Council President as an active member.
The Planning Commission meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Village Hall meeting room (218 N. Michigan Ave). Meetings are open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend and participate in local planning discussions.
Before each Planning Commission meeting, a packet is posted containing the agenda, previous meeting minutes, and supporting materials. Residents can also access planning bylaws and key documents at any time.
