Shelby Acres: A Project Shaping Shelby’s Future

Shelby Acres is one of the key developments shaping the future of the Village of Shelby. This 59-acre Planned Unit Development (PUD) is located east of Oceana Drive, directly across from the new Shelby Elementary School. As the largest housing project in Oceana County’s history, it reflects the community’s growth and commitment to thoughtful planning.

The development will include 82 single-family homes built in four phases, each with 21 lots. Phase 3 is currently under construction. All homes are connected to Village water and sewer, with underground utilities and natural gas to ensure reliable infrastructure.

The revitalization of Getty Park in 2024 was a symbol of the revitalization that is taking place in our community as a whole. Originally deeded to the Village in 1908 by George B. and Sarah J. Getty, this historic park has been thoughtfully transformed into a modern, family-friendly destination—while honoring its rich heritage.
