Back in January 2025, we launched a vision-casting session to reimagine and revitalize downtown Shelby. From that meeting, the Vision & Implementation Team and its dedicated committees were formed—and they’ve been working tirelessly ever since!
We’re thrilled to share one of the exciting outcomes of these efforts—a draft design that showcases what’s ahead for our downtown! This project isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about impact. By creating a safe, vibrant, inclusive, and desirable neighborhood, we’re supporting job growth, encouraging entrepreneurs, and attracting visitors—contributing to Michigan’s economy while making Shelby a place people love to experience again and again. Project Funding Summary
- Total needed to be raised: $1.6 million to $2 million (final scope depends on construction bids).
- Project budget will be determined by written and received commitments.
- Current Village commitment: $500,000 (with match = $1,000,000 toward the project)
- Current Community commitment: (Village included): $576,500 (with match = $1,153,000)
