UPDATE: Boil Water Advisory Timing

February 4th, 2026

We want to provide an update on the boil water advisory for the affected area of Shelby.

At the earliest, the advisory will remain in place through Friday. To ensure the water is safe, per state regulations, two consecutive water samples must come back negative. There is also 24‑hour waiting period requirement before the first sample can be tested, followed by another 24‑hour waiting period before the second sample can be tested.

Reminder: Affected areas include:
Cherry • Lesada • Runner • Hillcrest • North & South Sunset Terrace • Orchard View Dr • 6th St (east of State St/Oceana Dr)

We will provide the next update on Friday afternoon one way or the other. The notifications will take place both here on the Village of Shelby Facebook page, on our Shelby Village website News and Updates, and through our text alert system. The link to sign up for text alerts is here: https://shelbyvillage.com/resident-services/sign-up-for-alerts/

In the meantime, if you’d like guidance on what to do in your home during a boil water advisory, here is a helpful resource:
